In some culture, it is related to belief that the dead have
a continued existence, and may possess the ability to influence the fortune of
living. Honouring the dead is a practice of paying the respect of departed
person from a specific ritual. Some evidence show that the homo heidelbergensis
were first to bury theirancestors. In this process of bury the ancestor in some kind of spiritual aspect to burial process is unknown. In some culture the burial process is still an ongoing process in which departed ancestor are viewed as a strong influence over their lives. Honouring the dead is not a traditional concept to respect their ancestor; it’s just a process for some specific ritual for the practice.
